amdxdna_gem_dmabuf_mmap() has no network, adjacent-radio, or physical-bus entry point.\nAC:L - After exporting a BO and closing its GEM handle (leaving only the dma-buf ref), the vm_insert_pages() error path deterministically double-puts the object; the attacker can force insert failure via RLIMIT_AS/cgroup memory pressure without uncontrollable races or victim-specific state.\nPR:L - CREATE_BO and PRIME ioctls are registered without DRM_ROOT_ONLY/AUTH; any unprivileged local user permitted to open the AMD XDNA accel node (typically render/video group on Ryzen AI systems) can create, export, and mmap buffers without real root or init-namespace capabilities.\nUI:N - The attacker opens the accel device, creates and exports a buffer, closes the handle, and mmap()s the dma-buf fd in their own process; no separate victim mount, file open, or other user interaction is required.\nS:U - The double drm_gem_object_put() use-after-free corrupts kernel slab metadata within the same kernel security authority; it is not a VM escape, hypervisor breakout, or IOMMU DMA-boundary bypass as a direct consequence of this refcount bug.\nC:H - UAF on the freed drm_gem_object during the second drm_gem_object_put() lets an attacker reclaim slab objects via heap grooming, enabling arbitrary kernel memory disclosure beyond a bounded metadata leak.\nI:H - The erroneous second put on a freed GEM object provides slab corruption primitives that can be developed into arbitrary kernel writes and local privilege escalation, not merely limited data modification.\nA:H - The use-after-free in drm_gem_object_put() dereferences freed kmem and can immediately provoke kernel oops/panic; repeated triggering sustains denial of service on the NPU host."}]}],"affected":[{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"unaffected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["drivers/accel/amdxdna/amdxdna_gem.c"],"versions":[{"version":"e486147c912f653ef4b60a6c7dbd4168a4c56a9f","lessThan":"4e370b5289624f46a356dcc94f9f87025eaa6036","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"e486147c912f653ef4b60a6c7dbd4168a4c56a9f","lessThan":"5da885c39baa70f570a8be35a78e85a351f33918","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"e486147c912f653ef4b60a6c7dbd4168a4c56a9f","lessThan":"63bbf9ac5dde2ba85e7b39d0a0b7d540e6252ba4","status":"affected","versionType":"git"}]},{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"affected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["drivers/accel/amdxdna/amdxdna_gem.c"],"versions":[{"version":"6.16","status":"affected"},{"version":"0","lessThan":"6.16","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.18.40","lessThanOrEqual":"6.18.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"7.1.5","lessThanOrEqual":"7.1.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"7.2","lessThanOrEqual":"*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"original_commit_for_fix"}]}],"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.16","versionEndExcluding":"6.18.40"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.16","versionEndExcluding":"7.1.5"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.16","versionEndExcluding":"7.2"}]}]}],"references":[{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4e370b5289624f46a356dcc94f9f87025eaa6036"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/5da885c39baa70f570a8be35a78e85a351f33918"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/63bbf9ac5dde2ba85e7b39d0a0b7d540e6252ba4"}],"title":"accel/amdxdna: Fix use-after-free in amdxdna_gem_dmabuf_mmap()","x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}}}}
