Prior to 3.16.0, FileRise deployments with AUTH_BYPASS enabled trust the configured reverse-proxy identity header without verifying that the request originated from FR_TRUSTED_PROXIES. When the backend application port is reachable directly, an unauthenticated attacker can supply X-Remote-User and obtain a session for the asserted account, including an administrator account, without a password or MFA. The flaw is limited to deployments that enable proxy-header authentication and expose an untrusted path to the backend. This issue is fixed in version 3.16.0."}],"source":{"advisory":"GHSA-98pg-w3jp-r8fv","discovery":"UNKNOWN"}},"adp":[{"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/error311/FileRise/security/advisories/GHSA-98pg-w3jp-r8fv","tags":["exploit"]}],"metrics":[{"other":{"type":"ssvc","content":{"timestamp":"2026-10-20T02:06:40.410758Z","id":"CVE-2026-57489","options":[{"Exploitation":"poc"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"total"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","version":"2.0.3"}}}],"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment","providerMetadata":{"orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP","dateUpdated":"2026-10-20T02:07:03.653Z"}}]}}
