This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to delete arbitrary media attachments site-wide by supplying any numeric attachment ID in the file-field parameter alongside the corresponding delete flag, causing content loss and broken pages. Exploitation requires that the attacker's post is governed by a Custom Field Template containing at least one file-type field with the mediaRemove option not enabled, which is the default configuration for file fields."}],"title":"Custom Field Template <= 2.7.8 - Authenticated (Contributor+) Insecure Direct Object Reference to Arbitrary Media File Deletion via 'file_field' Parameter","references":[{"url":"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/02f44f5b-c513-4aba-b895-65df681620c6?source=cve"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/custom-field-template/tags/2.7.8/custom-field-template.php#L3500"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/custom-field-template/tags/2.7.8/custom-field-template.php#L3462"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/custom-field-template/tags/2.7.8/custom-field-template.php#L105"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/custom-field-template/tags/2.7.7/custom-field-template.php#L3500"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/custom-field-template/tags/2.7.7/custom-field-template.php#L3462"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/custom-field-template/tags/2.7.7/custom-field-template.php#L105"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3589466%40custom-field-template&new=3589466%40custom-field-template"}],"problemTypes":[{"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","description":"CWE-639 Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key","cweId":"CWE-639","type":"CWE"}]}],"metrics":[{"cvssV3_1":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","baseScore":4.3,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM"}}],"credits":[{"lang":"en","type":"finder","value":"Dmitrii Ignatyev"}],"timeline":[{"time":"2026-09-21T18:42:31.000Z","lang":"en","value":"Disclosed"}]},"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"type":"ssvc","content":{"id":"CVE-2026-12995","role":"CISA Coordinator","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"version":"2.0.3","timestamp":"2026-09-22T10:10:12.838575Z"}}}],"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment","providerMetadata":{"orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP","dateUpdated":"2026-09-22T10:25:33.276Z"}}]}}
