Network traffic can exercise the damaged queue concurrently, but a remote peer cannot perform the required resize.\nAC:L - The attacker can deliberately fail resizing using an invalid mmap-info destination or controlled queue occupancy, then issue another modification. Any use-after-free race involves attacker-controlled concurrent uverbs calls or traffic.\nPR:L - An unprivileged user can open the mode-0666 uverbs device, create a context, PD, and SRQ, and invoke modify without capability checks. Object lookup requires ownership of the SRQ but no administrative privilege.\nUI:N - Exploitation requires no action by another user; the attacker creates and modifies the affected SRQ directly.\nS:U - The vulnerable RXE code and the affected kernel resources share the same security authority. Kernel compromise or privilege escalation does not inherently cross a CVSS scope boundary.\nC:H - The failure path frees a still-live queue, and shared uobject lookup permits concurrent modify operations to retain and use that freed queue. Heap reclamation can turn this use-after-free and associated double release into kernel-memory disclosure primitives.\nI:H - A concurrent resize can reach resize_finish() with the freed queue, where swap() writes a complete queue header into freed or reallocated slab memory and cleanup can release stale resources again. This provides defensible kernel heap corruption and potential control-flow hijacking.\nA:H - A sequential second modification deterministically dereferences the NULL queue and causes a kernel oops or panic. Concurrent use-after-free paths can likewise crash the system and are repeatable by the attacker."}]}],"affected":[{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"unaffected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["drivers/infiniband/sw/rxe/rxe_srq.c"],"versions":[{"version":"8700e3e7c4857d28ebaa824509934556da0b3e76","lessThan":"58aca869babd48cb9c3d6ee9e1452c4b9f5266a6","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"8700e3e7c4857d28ebaa824509934556da0b3e76","lessThan":"b8f6eeb87a76b6fb1f6381b0b2894568e1b784f7","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"8700e3e7c4857d28ebaa824509934556da0b3e76","lessThan":"5dbeb421e137824aa9bd8358bdfc926a3965fc0d","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"8700e3e7c4857d28ebaa824509934556da0b3e76","lessThan":"bc4c14a3863cc0e03698caec9a0cdabd779776ee","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"8700e3e7c4857d28ebaa824509934556da0b3e76","lessThan":"503a5e4690ae14c18570141bc0dcf7501a8419b0","status":"affected","versionType":"git"}]},{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"affected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["drivers/infiniband/sw/rxe/rxe_srq.c"],"versions":[{"version":"4.8","status":"affected"},{"version":"0","lessThan":"4.8","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.6.120","lessThanOrEqual":"6.6.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.12.63","lessThanOrEqual":"6.12.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.17.13","lessThanOrEqual":"6.17.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.18.2","lessThanOrEqual":"6.18.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.19","lessThanOrEqual":"*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"original_commit_for_fix"}]}],"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.8","versionEndExcluding":"6.6.120"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.8","versionEndExcluding":"6.12.63"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.8","versionEndExcluding":"6.17.13"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.8","versionEndExcluding":"6.18.2"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.8","versionEndExcluding":"6.19"}]}]}],"references":[{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/58aca869babd48cb9c3d6ee9e1452c4b9f5266a6"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b8f6eeb87a76b6fb1f6381b0b2894568e1b784f7"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/5dbeb421e137824aa9bd8358bdfc926a3965fc0d"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/bc4c14a3863cc0e03698caec9a0cdabd779776ee"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/503a5e4690ae14c18570141bc0dcf7501a8419b0"}],"title":"RDMA/rxe: Fix null deref on srq->rq.queue after resize failure","x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}}}}
