A segmentation fault was found in Vim before 9.1.1043. In silent Ex mode (-s -e), Vim typically doesn't show a screen and just operates silently in batch mode. However, it is still possible to trigger the function that handles the scrolling of a gui version of Vim by feeding some binary characters to Vim. The function that handles the scrolling however may be triggering a redraw, which will access the ScreenLines pointer, even so this variable hasn't been allocated (since there is no screen). This vulnerability is fixed in 9.1.1043."}],"source":{"advisory":"GHSA-j3g9-wg22-v955","discovery":"UNKNOWN"}},"adp":[{"title":"CVE Program Container","references":[{"url":"http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2025/01/20/4"},{"url":"http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2025/01/21/1"},{"url":"https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20250314-0005/"}],"providerMetadata":{"orgId":"af854a3a-2127-422b-91ae-364da2661108","shortName":"CVE","dateUpdated":"2025-03-14T10:03:09.511Z"}},{"metrics":[{"other":{"type":"ssvc","content":{"timestamp":"2025-01-21T14:42:41.237005Z","id":"CVE-2025-24014","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","version":"2.0.3"}}}],"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment","providerMetadata":{"orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP","dateUpdated":"2025-01-21T14:42:50.140Z"}}]}}
