No network or remote protocol data reaches this path.\nAC:L - The attacker drives one side of the race directly (repeatable bind/unbind cycles) while the hot-join work is generated by ordinary I3C bus activity, and the window can be widened and retried indefinitely until it is won; per kernel scoring practice a UAF race whose triggering side is attacker-initiated is Low.\nPR:L - The teardown path is reached from local userspace device-management interfaces on the I3C master device, and no authentication beyond ordinary local access to the device/driver interfaces is required to keep re-triggering the removal path; scored at the lower privilege tier consistent with comparable driver-removal UAFs.\nUI:N - No victim action is needed — the removal path and the hot-join work both proceed automatically once the unbind is issued and a hot-join IBI arrives.\nS:U - The corruption and its consequences are confined to the kernel's own memory and security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.\nC:H - The use-after-free lets `i3c_master_do_daa()` read `master->base`, `master->bus`, and `master->ops` out of a freed and potentially re-allocated slab object, so an attacker who grooms the heap can read back kernel memory contents through the stale object.\nI:H - The freed object is dereferenced for an indirect call (`master->ops->do_daa(master)`) and for lock manipulation, so heap spraying over the freed allocation gives a control-flow hijack and arbitrary-write primitive rather than a mere stale read.\nA:H - Even unexploited, the use-after-free corrupts kernel state and dereferences freed pointers, reliably producing an oops or panic and taking down the system."}]}],"affected":[{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"unaffected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["drivers/i3c/master/svc-i3c-master.c"],"versions":[{"version":"87e0f28eda36c7843523aa8dd0c5dab3331e9718","lessThan":"56bddf543d4d7ddeff3f87b554ddacfdf086bffe","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0f74f8b6675cc36d689abb4d9b3d75ab4049b7d7","lessThan":"4ac637122930cc4ab7e2c22e364cf3aaf96b05b1","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0f74f8b6675cc36d689abb4d9b3d75ab4049b7d7","lessThan":"4318998892bf8fe99f97bea18c37ae7b685af75a","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0f74f8b6675cc36d689abb4d9b3d75ab4049b7d7","lessThan":"27b55724d3f781dd6e635e89dc6e2fd78fa81a00","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0f74f8b6675cc36d689abb4d9b3d75ab4049b7d7","lessThan":"61850725779709369c7e907ae8c7c75dc7cec4f3","status":"affected","versionType":"git"}]},{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"affected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["drivers/i3c/master/svc-i3c-master.c"],"versions":[{"version":"6.4","status":"affected"},{"version":"0","lessThan":"6.4","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.6.55","lessThanOrEqual":"6.6.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.10.14","lessThanOrEqual":"6.10.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.11.3","lessThanOrEqual":"6.11.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.12","lessThanOrEqual":"*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"original_commit_for_fix"}]}],"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.4","versionEndExcluding":"6.6.55"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.4","versionEndExcluding":"6.10.14"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.4","versionEndExcluding":"6.11.3"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.4","versionEndExcluding":"6.12"}]}]}],"references":[{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/56bddf543d4d7ddeff3f87b554ddacfdf086bffe"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4ac637122930cc4ab7e2c22e364cf3aaf96b05b1"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4318998892bf8fe99f97bea18c37ae7b685af75a"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/27b55724d3f781dd6e635e89dc6e2fd78fa81a00"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/61850725779709369c7e907ae8c7c75dc7cec4f3"}],"title":"i3c: master: svc: Fix use after free vulnerability in svc_i3c_master Driver Due to Race Condition","x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}},"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"type":"ssvc","content":{"id":"CVE-2024-49874","role":"CISA Coordinator","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"version":"2.0.3","timestamp":"2024-10-22T13:46:33.404172Z"}}}],"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment","providerMetadata":{"orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP","dateUpdated":"2024-10-22T13:48:51.538Z"}}]}}
