As a result, it is possible to leave parent with no\neffective cpu left even if there are tasks in the parent cpuset. This\ncan lead to system panic as reported in [1].\n\nFix this probem by updating the check to fail the enabling the partition\nif parent's effective_cpus is a subset of the child's cpus_allowed.\n\nAlso record the error code when an error happens in update_prstate()\nand add a test case where parent partition and child have the same cpu\nlist and parent has task. Enabling partition in the child will fail in\nthis case.\n\n[1] https://www.spinics.net/lists/cgroups/msg36254.html"}],"affected":[{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"unaffected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["kernel/cgroup/cpuset.c","tools/testing/selftests/cgroup/test_cpuset_prs.sh"],"versions":[{"version":"f0af1bfc27b52a4d42510051154c61bd176a8f06","lessThan":"a2ab7f2cf5ef8f0c6212a246e681d1fe358cec1f","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"f0af1bfc27b52a4d42510051154c61bd176a8f06","lessThan":"e5ae8803847b80fe9d744a3174abe2b7bfed222a","status":"affected","versionType":"git"}]},{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"affected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["kernel/cgroup/cpuset.c","tools/testing/selftests/cgroup/test_cpuset_prs.sh"],"versions":[{"version":"6.1","status":"affected"},{"version":"0","lessThan":"6.1","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.1.11","lessThanOrEqual":"6.1.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.2","lessThanOrEqual":"*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"original_commit_for_fix"}]}],"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.1","versionEndExcluding":"6.1.11"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"6.1","versionEndExcluding":"6.2"}]}]}],"references":[{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a2ab7f2cf5ef8f0c6212a246e681d1fe358cec1f"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e5ae8803847b80fe9d744a3174abe2b7bfed222a"}],"title":"cgroup/cpuset: Fix wrong check in update_parent_subparts_cpumask()","x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}}}}
