rfc3686(ctr(aes)) is an XFRM/ESP transform that resolves to ctr-aes-s390; on an IPsec gateway, attacker-controlled forwarded packet lengths hit authenc encrypt which calls crypto_skcipher_encrypt before ICV generation, so the vulnerable CTR path processes remote traffic.\nAC:L - The attacker reliably triggers the partial final-block path by choosing a cryptlen that is not a multiple of AES_BLOCK_SIZE, and can place that remainder near a page boundary via packet or AF_ALG buffer sizing with no uncontrollable race.\nPR:N - Outbound ESP encryption on a configured IPsec/XFRM path runs on forwarded packets without a local account or capability; SA/policy setup is deployment configuration, not attacker privilege.\nUI:N - No victim interaction is required; crafted packet lengths or local AF_ALG send/recv sequences alone exercise the vulnerable final-block read.\nS:U - Impact stays inside the same kernel authority (crypto/XFRM on the host) and does not demonstrate VM escape, IOMMU bypass, or another cross-scope boundary.\nC:L - The bug over-reads up to 15 bytes of adjacent source memory into the KMCTR path; that is a strictly bounded OOB read (not arbitrary), and the truncated memcpy to dst does not return those bytes, so confidentiality is limited rather than high.\nI:N - This is a source overread only—destination writes are already limited to nbytes—and CTR output for the valid bytes is not an integrity-corrupting write primitive.\nA:H - Reading a full AES block when nbytes is smaller can touch the next page beyond the scatterwalk mapping (or a guard/KFENCE page), causing a kernel fault/oops and denial of service."}]}],"affected":[{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"unaffected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["arch/s390/crypto/aes_s390.c","arch/s390/crypto/paes_s390.c"],"versions":[{"version":"0200f3ecc19660bebeabbcbaf212957fcf1dbf8f","lessThan":"cd51e26a3b89706beec64f2d8296cfb1c34e0c79","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0200f3ecc19660bebeabbcbaf212957fcf1dbf8f","lessThan":"a7f580cdb42ec3d53bbb7c4e4335a98423703285","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0200f3ecc19660bebeabbcbaf212957fcf1dbf8f","lessThan":"dbc9a791a70ea47be9f2acf251700fe254a2ab23","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0200f3ecc19660bebeabbcbaf212957fcf1dbf8f","lessThan":"d68ac38895e84446848b7647ab9458d54cacba3e","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0200f3ecc19660bebeabbcbaf212957fcf1dbf8f","lessThan":"e78f1a43e72daf77705ad5b9946de66fc708b874","status":"affected","versionType":"git"},{"version":"0200f3ecc19660bebeabbcbaf212957fcf1dbf8f","lessThan":"d07f951903fa9922c375b8ab1ce81b18a0034e3b","status":"affected","versionType":"git"}]},{"product":"Linux","vendor":"Linux","defaultStatus":"affected","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["arch/s390/crypto/aes_s390.c","arch/s390/crypto/paes_s390.c"],"versions":[{"version":"3.0","status":"affected"},{"version":"0","lessThan":"3.0","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"5.10.210","lessThanOrEqual":"5.10.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"5.15.149","lessThanOrEqual":"5.15.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.1.76","lessThanOrEqual":"6.1.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.6.15","lessThanOrEqual":"6.6.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.7.3","lessThanOrEqual":"6.7.*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.8","lessThanOrEqual":"*","status":"unaffected","versionType":"original_commit_for_fix"}]}],"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"3.0","versionEndExcluding":"5.10.210"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"3.0","versionEndExcluding":"5.15.149"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"3.0","versionEndExcluding":"6.1.76"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"3.0","versionEndExcluding":"6.6.15"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"3.0","versionEndExcluding":"6.7.3"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"3.0","versionEndExcluding":"6.8"}]}]}],"references":[{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/cd51e26a3b89706beec64f2d8296cfb1c34e0c79"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a7f580cdb42ec3d53bbb7c4e4335a98423703285"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/dbc9a791a70ea47be9f2acf251700fe254a2ab23"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d68ac38895e84446848b7647ab9458d54cacba3e"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e78f1a43e72daf77705ad5b9946de66fc708b874"},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d07f951903fa9922c375b8ab1ce81b18a0034e3b"}],"title":"crypto: s390/aes -
